Philanthropy
In the spring semester, we host Pike Jam Bam. All proceeds go directly to the Austin May Memorial Scholarship hosted by the Oak Grove Moravian Church. Austin May is a beloved brother of ours who passed while he was an active member pursuing an undergraduate degree.
In the fall semester, we host our national philanthropy called Fireman’s Challenge. All proceeds go to the Firefighter Patient Fund at the Wake Forest Baptist Hospital Burn Center. The WFBH Burn Center is one of the leading Burn Centers in the nation and helped pioneer the revolutionary treatment of spray-on-skin.
Service
Service is a major tenet of being a Pike. We have adopted Springdale Park on the corner of Spring Garden St and Springdale Ct. Every month we clean up the park as well as maintain the landscaping and cleaning the playground equipment.
Every year we participate in every College Panhellenic Council organization’s philanthropies, as well as collaborate with different university departments in the pursuit of serving our community.
Pike University and International Conferences
Pike University is a series of International Leadership Summits hosted by our dedicated full-time staff and volunteers. Any undergraduate member can attend a multitude of events including leadership summits, our International Convention and Leadership Academy. There are at least two opportunities for chapters to send their members to each semester. Locations are Memphis, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago and many more. These events not only help our members become more prepared and better leaders within our own chapter, but also afford great networking opportunities with other undergrads and promient pikes who are leaders in their professional industries.
Social Events
Our Chapter hosts a multitude of social events every year! Each one is unique and provides much needed entertainment, relaxation, and positive social exposure. We have a commitment to our members to not only provide value through professional development, networking, scholarship, and much more, but also to create experiences and memories that one can carry with themselves for the rest of their lives. Some of these events include Semi-Formal, Garnet & Gold, Homecoming, and partnered events with other greek-letter social organizations.
Spring Formal
Cabin Trip
Cabin Trip is a brother exclusive mountain retreat where we take three days to not only bond closer as brothers, but to also hit the reset button during our Fall Break. Kayaking, Bonfires, and Hiking are some of the many activities we do together. If you were to ask our members what their fondest memory is or maybe what their most fun expierence is, most would say Cabin Trip. Truly nothing beats being in the Appalachian wilderness surrounded by your brothers.
Spring Formal is a chapter vacation we take towards the end of every spring semester. We stay at a beach front hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC and every brother has the option to bring a date with him. We surely enjoy the beach and cool off in the Atlantic as well as participate in some of the many activities the destination has to offer. We also have a Formal Banquet on the first night to celebrate our year and achievements. Awards are given out to our individual members who embody what it means to be a PIKE and set a standard of excellence within our chapter.
